Our 2019 Bike of the Year, the WI.DE. needs no introduction. The sheer variety of builds possible never ceases to delight, and this particular bike embraces the rip-roaring side of the ultra-versatile adventure frameset with the DT Swiss GR1600 wheelset's 24mm inner width matched to Schwalbe's brilliant aggressive all-rounders the Rock Razor, featuring their super grippy Addix compound, in a chunky 2.35in width.

Those alloy rims are tough enough to take on the roughest of terrain, but despite the reassuring 25mm rim depth they're not excessively heavy. Opting for fat 650b tyres makes for a good air volume to absorb any bumps, with plenty of grip on offer.

An Easton cockpit and seatpost are great choices for a bike with this focus - the carbon bars and post giving plenty of stiffness for ultimate control whilst the clever layup helps reduce buzz and enhance comfort.

Eagle AXS shifting means that the 1x drivetrain provides an enormous 500% range, thanks to the 10-50 tooth cassette. So whilst it'll climb and descend like a dream you can still put the hammer down on the flat.
