This latest iteration of the Specialized Diverge features revised geometry, with a lower BB, shorter chainstays and a more relaxed fork angle. All this adds up to a bike that isn't simply a relabelled cyclocross frame, it's a dedicated "adventure" bike that's intended for use off the beaten path, but also on the long stretches of road in between.
Three sets of bottle mounts, plus mounting points for mudguards and racks, mean that this is as ready for bikepacking adventures as it is for a multi-terrain winter training ride.
The Diverge frameset is engineered for a smooth ride, with the FutureShock suspension at the headset providing 20mm of travel, but we've gone further here and equipped this bike with an Ergon CF3 seatpost.
The CF3 is a carbon post using a 'leaf spring' design (with two pivot points running on bushings) to give an extra level of shock absorption. This is a fantastic way to add extra comfort without excess weight (the post typically weighs around 220g) and without compromising on performance (they are as popular on road race bikes as they are on gravel/adventure).
