With stacks of tyre clearance (up to 45mm), adjustable dropouts that let you easily run single speed or geared setups, tons of mounting points for bags, bottles, racks and mudguards, the Checkpoint ALR is a superb value gravel/adventure bike that can also make a fine all-weather commuter, or indeed a winter trainer for all conditions.

The first generation Checkpoint was a capable enough choice, but this latest iteration really impresses with a host of up-to-date features in a very well thought out package. And in British Racing Green it looks gorgeous, too.

SKS Bluemels mudguards help keep you dry (and those behind you, when riding in a group) and feature internal alloy reinforcement strips within their matt plastic outers - tough and stylish, and designed to easily disconnect without damaging your frame should something get stuck between tyre and guard when riding off-road.
