Try before you buy with the Specialized Turbo Active Test Experience at Bespoke Gresham Street
e-Bikes are revolutionising the world of cycling, for both new and experienced cyclists alike. There's no better way to understand the appeal of the e-Bike than to get on one and ride. We've partnered with Specialized to provide a test fleet of their superb e-Bikes, available for demo from our central London store.
Representing a cross-section of Specialized's "Active" range there's something for everyone, from the urban-optimised Como to the superlight Vado SL.
Book online and choose your pickup time, with demo slots available from 2 hours up to 2 days in duration, to fit around your schedule.
When you return the bike we'll invite you to complete a short post-ride feedback form, over a complimentary coffee crafted by V69's baristas.
The bikes are provided fully serviced, charged and ready to ride, and our in-store experts will ensure you're ready to go, as well as answering any questions about the demo, or e-Bikes in general.
With a comfy, upright riding position (giving great visibility) and a step-through frame the Como is a perfect city bike. The powerful motor, with super-fast engagement, means you'll be able to zip away from the lights without breaking a sweat.
Front suspension and chunky tyres take the pain out of potholes, and it's easy to hop on and off for those local journeys (but with a whopping 135km range - and convenient 4hr 40m charging time - longer trips are worry-free).
The Vado 3.0 takes the same city-friendly power delivery of the Como, optimised for urban riding, and adds the convenience of a removeable battery. Lockable for security, it can easily be popped out for charging, to save lugging your bike upstairs for charging, for example.
9-speed gearing and hydraulic disc brakes make for a relaxing ride that's nippy when you want it to be. The riding position is relaxed, but a little less upright than the Como, striking a nice balance between urban comfort and weekend fitness/leisure riding.
The Turbo Vado is also available in step-through form, making it easier to mount/dismount. This is a modern spin on the classic frame design that's always a popular choice around town.
Aside from the frame this is the same bike as the 'regular' Vado 3.0, with a smooth, quiet motor giving seamless pedal assistance when required. Also present is that pothole-taming front suspension and a full complement of urban essentials (front and rear lights, mudguards, rack, kickstand and even a bell).
Weighing in at as little as 14.9kg the Vado SL is an urban (and beyond) e-Bike that's light enough to carry.
With FutureShock suspension seamlessly integrated into the front, and 130km of range as standard (up to 195km with the optional range extender) the Vado SL 5.0 is a brilliant all-rounder. Grippy Pathfinder tyres mean it can happily venture onto rougher surfaces, making it as suited to weekend exploration as it is to the commute.
We've said before that e-Bikes have reached a tipping point, and the new Turbo Vado SL from Specialized is one of the best all-round commuter packages we've seen to date....
