Bob Parlee visited Bespoke Gresham Street last week for our Meet the Maker event, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with the crowd of attendees. Earlier in the day, Bob was interviewed by Rouleur magazine for their podcast and a small feature. You can check out the podcast here .
Things kicked off around 6pm, with guests arriving and meeting Bob. After chatting with some of the Parlee owners in attendance, Bob said a few words about the history of Parlee Cycles and the start of his journey working with carbon engineering for bicycles. Then Bob, Isabel Parlee and Tom Rodi, head of sales at Parlee, opened up the floor for an informal Q&A session, which covered all aspects of Parlee, the range. It was good to hear them talk about the newest Parlee additions, the all-road Chebacco and the Z-Zero XD , both of which have had a lot of interest here at Bespoke. Disc brakes have been immensely popular on road bikes with our customers and we've seen huge interest in the all-road concept, allowing wider tyres, discs and geometry that will cope with roads and rough tracks alike.
Tom introduced the new range of Parlee bars and seatposts and showed us the new stem they are working on, all of which will be available very shortly. The amount of R&D that Parlee put into their products is phenomenal. With less than 30 members of staff, Parlee is a very tight operation. Input from every member of staff is important. Bob makes sure that standards are maintained at the very highest level. His passion for the technology that he's mastered, for his bikes, was inspiring to witness.
With a shop full of Parlee bikes and a crowd of attendees it was a great night. Thanks to Bob, Isabel and Tom for coming over, and thanks to all who came along. Let's do it again soon.
